Kelley Michael Schaefer is a Wine Spectator award winning sommelier, wine educator, columnist, consultant and overall wine personality. Born in Canada, Kelley has experience in all facets of the wine industry from viticulture and winemaking to sales and service, and holds both WSET (Wine and Spirit education Trust) and ISG (International Sommelier Guild) credentials.

Starting over a decade ago as a student of winemaking and enology in Canada, he went on to work at a number of wineries-in all facets of cellar operations and lab analysis, giving Kelley a unique background and insight to wine uncommonly found in most sommeliers.

With previous experience as a sommelier and wine educator in the Maldives, Dubai, North America, and on award winning cruise ships internationally, Kelley is at the forefront of the wine business and keeps his finger on the pulse of industry trends. Personal visits through the wine regions of Europe and North America, and collaboration with Michelin Star and celebrity chefs from Japan, Spain, Holland and the UK have also contributed to Kelley's unparalleled experience and expertise, and his intrinsic instinct for food and wine pairing.

An ebullient and passionate wine educator, Kelley has a uniquely energetic style of explaining the complex and vast subject of wine in a succinct manner that all can understand. That said, perhaps Kelley's greatest attribute is his personality, as the satisfaction and smiles on all who attend his workshops and seminars demonstrate.
