PEGASUS BAY
Waipara Valley
If there was wine royalty in New Zealand, the Donaldson family who run Pegasus Bay would be monarchs. The Donaldson family have been seriously involved in wine since the early 1970’s and were pioneers of New Zealand grape growing and wine making.
Pegasus Bay is very highly regarded especially for its Pinot Noirs, Rieslings and Sauvignon Semillon. It has three ranges: Main Divide which is mid entry point, Main Divide Tehau Selection which is only made in exceptional vintages and its ultra premium Pegasus Bay Range.
Robert Parker recently in his eRobert Parker.com May 2008 edition awarded Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Semillon 2007 95 points, Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Riesling 2006 93 points and Pegasus Bay Chardonnay 2005 93 points. This another testament to their quality.
