The Thorn-Clarke family already has a long history in the Barossa – six generations of involvement in the region’s world famous wine industry. At Thorn-Clarke there is a long-term view of the future and the goal is unashamedly to be still growing grapes and making wine for another six generations.

Given their plans to be a premium wine producer for a very long time, producing quality and value in their wines is critical. Right from the time the first vineyards were established, the Thorn-Clarke family has been extremely thorough in ensuring all elements are right.

Thorn-Clarke is one of the biggest grape growers in the Barossa with over 270 hectares of vines over four vineyards, all selected to ensure the ideal growing conditions for each variety. The Thorn-Clarke winemaking philosophy centres strongly around blending from the four vineyard sites in developing highly complex wines which show great elegance.

As with many such growers, most of the grape production is sold, but the best is retained for the Thorn-Clarke label. Thorn-Clarke consistently wins trophies and medals.

Terra Barossa is a mid price range of exquisite quality. This range pays tribute to the ideal grape growing terroir of the Barossa. The free draining soil structure combined with the continental climate of warm days and cool nights enables them to produce elegant wines with good varietal characters.
